[Community](https://sustainability.monadelphous.com.au/sustainability-at-monadelphous/tag/community) [Indigenous Engagement](https://sustainability.monadelphous.com.au/sustainability-at-monadelphous/tag/indigenous-engagement) Sep 9, 2026, 9:01:10 AM 1 Minute Read We were proud to be part of Dorrie Day Careers Expo in Gladstone, an event that celebrates culture, connection and opportunity for First Nations communities. Held annually, Dorrie Day is more than just a careers expo, it’s a platform for creating meaningful connections between students, job seekers, businesses and government agencies, all while showcasing and celebrating First Nations identity and leadership. Molly Cartwright, Senior Site Administrator, attended the event and said it was a great way to engage with the community and showcase the career pathways available. “It was a fantastic turnout and such a great opportunity to connect with the community. “The atmosphere was so welcoming, and it was clear how much the students valued seeing businesses show up and engage with them,” Molly said. “It was great to be a part of the day and have conversations about the pathways we offer.” With traditional performances, storytelling, cultural showcases, and over 85 students securing direct work experience placements in 2024, the event continues to grow in impact. Organisers are already looking to expand the reach to connect with even more students across a wider region. We’re proud to support events like Dorrie Day that champion cultural understanding, community growth and create real pathways to employment. A huge thank you to the organisers of Dorrie Day for hosting such a meaningful event! Fun fact: The name ‘Dorrie Day’ was inspired by the phrase ‘have a Dorrie,’ which means to have a sticky beak - a perfect fit for the event as it’s all about exploring education and career opportunities! ![InTheLoop\_Blog\_July252](https://sustainability.monadelphous.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/InTheLoop_Blog_July252.jpg?width=600&height=338&name=InTheLoop_Blog_July252.jpg)   ## Leave a comment Previous Post STEMming the gap Next Post Supporting future generations in PNG ## Recommended For You [![](https://sustainability.monadelphous.com.au/hubfs/Copy%20of%20HubSpot%20Blog%20Image%20-%202026-09-29T100219.268.jpg)](https://sustainability.monadelphous.com.au/sustainability-at-monadelphous/supporting-future-pathways-at-the-polly-farmer-foundation-careers-expo) [Indigenous Engagement](https://sustainability.monadelphous.com.au/sustainability-at-monadelphous/tag/indigenous-engagement) 1 Min Read ### [Supporting future pathways at the Polly Farmer Foundation Careers Expo](https://sustainability.monadelphous.com.au/sustainability-at-monadelphous/supporting-future-pathways-at-the-polly-farmer-foundation-careers-expo) Recently, we were delighted to sponsor and attend the annual Polly Farmer Foundation Careers Expo, spending ...
