Rosella recyclable rewarding in more ways than one

Our EC E&I team in Gladstone didn't hesitate when approached in September of 2021 to join up to a local school recycling program.

Situated in West Gladstone, Rosella State School commenced their transition program designed for students to gain experiences in preparing a small business and offering valuable job-related experiences. Registering their program for Containers for Change which recycles bottles and cans for cash refunds, the students are raising money to subsidise the costs of transition school camps for themselves and their schoolmates.

Each week the students drop into the Monadelphous office to pick up any bottles and cans collected in the receptacles provided by the school. So far, the students have raised nearly $2000 in funds towards their future camps from five organisations in the local Gladstone region.

Monadelphous Estimator, Marty Ross said the EC E&I team were more than happy to support the local Gladstone school and its students in their endeavours.

"It's a no-brainer for our team. We are happy to support an initiative that not only supports education and offers real-life work experience for students, but also helps the environment."

Well done to our team for supporting this fantastic initiative!
