On Tuesday, we were joined by Traditional Owners to learn about the rich history of the lands where our major offices in Perth and Brisbane are located.
Whadjuk Nyungar Traditional Owner Kerry-Ann Winmar from Nyungar Tours joined us for a session about Boorloo (Perth) and the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River) and Traditional Owner Shannon Ruska from Tribal Experiences joined our Brisbane office for a session about the history of Meanjin (Brisbane) through the eyes of the Yuggera-Toorabul people.
Our operational sites were provided with NAIDOC Activity Packs individually customised to the local Language Groups. Many sites used this material, and some planned their own activities in engagement sessions, toolboxes and other events.
The Perth office hosted a NAIDOC "Resource Hub" with activities, walking-tour maps, books and videos for everyone to take away and share.
We also welcomed artists from Urban Indigenous for a "Collective Canvas" painting activity with over 30 of our employees including the EMT creating a series of artworks. These pieces turned out beautifully and will be displayed in the Perth office in the coming weeks.
